About Sara

Hi, I’m Sara DeMunda, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My journey into this field started after watching someone I love fight through addiction and recovery. Seeing their strength and perseverance inspired me to help others find that same inner resilience when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. That experience taught me how deeply people can grow when they’re supported and believed in — and that’s the energy I bring into my work every day!

I was born and raised right here in Henderson, so helping people in this community feels especially meaningful to me — it’s home! Before joining reTHINK, I worked with justice-involved youth in detention and juvenile drug court settings, as well as in private practice. Those experiences showed me that people can find light even in the darkest seasons and that healing isn’t always loud or dramatic — sometimes it’s just one brave step at a time.

Outside of work, I’m usually out in the sunshine somewhere — hiking, camping, snowboarding, or riding dirt bikes. I love any excuse to be outdoors, especially if it involves friends, family, and good coffee! When I’m not adventuring, you can probably find me thrift shopping or checking out a new local coffee spot.

At home, life is full of energy thanks to my cattle dog, Tillee, who keeps me on my toes. My friends would describe me as caring, adventurous, and resilient, and honestly — that’s how I try to show up in life and in session. A little grounded, a little scrappy, and always ready to help people find their footing again!

How I Help

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. My goal is to make the process feel comfortable, natural, and human. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or just not quite yourself lately. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. Sometimes the first step is simply saying, “I’m ready to feel different,” and letting that be enough!

I’m passionate about helping people find hope, confidence, and clarity in the middle of difficult seasons. I work with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. I believe therapy isn’t about “fixing” anyone — it’s about walking alongside you as you reconnect with your own strength, wisdom, and sense of possibility. My approach is relational, strength-based, and person-centered, which basically means we’ll move at your pace, with plenty of warmth, curiosity, and a healthy dose of humor and hope along the way.

You don’t have to go through hard things alone. Whether you’re rebuilding after loss, learning to manage anxiety, or trying to rediscover who you are after a big life change — I’m here to walk with you. Together, we’ll explore what’s been holding you back and find new ways to move forward that feel grounded, authentic, and true to who you are. My hope is that you leave each session feeling a little more seen, a little more connected, and a little more confident in where you’re headed!
