Anxiety Therapy

"You can’t concentrate on anything if you are thinking, "What’s gonna happen if it doesn’t go right?"

Can Anxiety Be Treated in Therapy?

Do you find yourself overwhelmed with “what if’s” and  worst case scenarios? You aren’t alone. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States. They affect more than 40 million adults ages 18 and older. Anxiety treatment is highly effective, however the sad truth is that only 37% of those affected by anxiety disorders seek out treatment.

Anxiety disorders are often a build up of smaller stressful situations, resulting in consistent feelings of heightened stress and worry. Some common stressors for anxiety include relationship troubles, past or current trauma, financial hardships, and the death of a loved one. Certain personality types are also more susceptible to anxiety. These people can experience elevated stress without a particular stressor. Stress is a normal part of life, but feeling constant stress can be overwhelming and even crippling to carry on a consistent basis.

“If we wanted to change the situation, we first had to change ourselves. And to change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions."

How We Can Help

At reTHINK Therapy, we have a two part anxiety treatment plan. First, we want to help you understand how your anxiety is currently impacting your life. Our therapists work to help you understand how your negative beliefs about yourself affect how you relate to others and how you function in your daily life.

The next step of our anxiety treatment is to help you identify where your anxious feelings first began. We want to help you identify where your negative thoughts originate and help you create a plan to change these negative thought patterns. Anxiety therapy at reTHINK will give you the tools to build more positive and sustainable beliefs about who you truly are.

Life will continue to have seasons of ups and downs. Unfortunately, we can’t change that. However, through anxiety treatment, you can be more prepared to face these difficulties. Get the resources you need to help understand and recognize who you truly are rather than believing harmful thoughts about yourself.
