Military

Military members and their families face unique circumstances that brings challenges to life that can already seem overwhelming at times. Being separated from family, leaving friends, and loved ones while trying to navigate new places adds strain to the already normal pressures of life. The weight of deployments, TDY, and the high demand and sacrifice required by our service members as well as their loved ones can seem like an insurmountable task at times.

It can often seem like we are left to face these problems alone and seeking help is not always easy to say the least. We want to help ease that process for you! From struggles with the day to day of feeling overwhelmed by trying to balance a career, that often seems to require more than you can give, with family and personal life. To trying to connect with people and build friendships when you feel alone or isolated. Sometimes you just feel like you are struggling and aren’t even sure exactly why or how to cope. Talking to someone about these things can seem uneasy at least and even impossible at times. The sacrifices that you and your loved ones make does not mean you have to sacrifice your mental health, your overall well-being or bear it alone. You deserve to be heard and understood in a practical way that helps relieve some of that burden you carry. We have therapists trained in faith-based counseling, couples, marriage and family, children, and teens, as well as individuals for a wide variety of life issues.

Trauma is often experienced in the military relating to deployments or other unique circumstances and sometimes we carry trauma from other areas of our life. This can affect us in ways leaving us unsure how to manage or cope with it. It can affect every area of our life and it can seem like you aren’t in control of how or when it surfaces. It creeps into our thoughts, our work, our personal lives, and our relationships. We often experience things like anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, and difficulty regulating our emotions. By helping you address these issues, you can have hope that you will experience a better quality of life than if they are left unaddressed.

Relationships, marriages, and family life are challenging for so many people and we understand that. We also know that as members of the military, relationships and family bring a whole new set of unique circumstances that put a strain on even healthy relationships. The frequent moves, new environments, time apart from loved ones, being far from home, childcare, single parenting, long work hours, challenging duty and work environments, physical fitness, continuing education are just some of the expectations you are required to balance. These things can make it difficult for even the well-equipped service member.

We are passionate about serving our military members, their families, and our veterans in our community. reTHINK Therapy understands the sacrifices you make, and we strive to help you restore your well-being and navigate life’s challenges so you can continue your journey with the hope and well-being you deserve.
