About Naila

Hi – I am Naila Yazdani, a student therapist here at reTHINK Therapy! I decided to pursue the therapy field because I saw firsthand how much the right support can change someone’s life — and how much the wrong approach can hurt. I experienced both as a child, and those moments shaped everything about how I want to show up for others. I knew I wanted to be the kind of therapist who leads with compassion and makes people feel safe, heard, and understood, especially during vulnerable moments.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working with children in after-school programs and summer camps. Those experiences taught me how to create safe spaces, listen deeply, and show up with patience and care — skills that guide every session I have today. As a woman of color with immigrant parents, I am deeply passionate about breaking cultural stigmas around mental health and advocating for communities that are often underserved.

At the core, my “why” is simple: no one should feel broken for needing help, and I want to be the therapist I once needed.

As a woman of color with immigrant parents, I’m also passionate about breaking the silence around mental health and advocating for minority communities. Much of my work has been shaped by supporting people from diverse backgrounds and walking with children through parental divorce and major life changes. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how identity, culture, and family shifts impact how we feel and show up in the world.

Outside of session, you’ll find me spending time with family and friends, traveling to recharge and gain new perspectives, or hanging out with my pitbull, Kallie. She’s my most loyal friend — always happy, loving, and full of personality… until I don’t give her my leftovers! One of my favorite quotes is from Winnie-the-Pooh:

“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

It reminds me of the meaningful connections we build and the honor of walking alongside people during important moments in their lives.

How I Help

I feel most called to work with people navigating trauma and major life transitions. Whether you’re processing divorce, family changes, identity shifts, or past experiences that still feel heavy, I’m here to help you feel grounded. I work with clients ages 5 and up, and I focus on trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and women’s issues.

I’d describe my therapy vibe as gentle, creative, and goal-oriented. I create a warm, supportive space while helping you move toward what matters most to you at a pace that feels right for you. I value honest conversation over perfection and meet you exactly where you are, offering both support and gentle intention at your own pace.

I believe healing and growth come from being as genuine and authentic with yourself as possible. When you’re honest about your thoughts and feelings — no matter how uncomfortable — it opens the door to real healing. My hope is that you leave each session feeling a sense of peace and release, knowing you gained something meaningful and that you’re not alone. I’ll be here to listen, support, and walk alongside you every step of the way.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly formal. It can be a space that feels human, warm, and real. I lead with empathy, listen deeply, and care a lot about creating a space where you feel safe being yourself — even on the hard days.
